Entry at extremely low prices, which is generally considered to lead to severe price competition with competitors, can rather avoid price competition under asymmetric competition. Also, the dominant strategy, which is generally said to discourage competitors from engaging in competition, motivates incumbents to engage in strategic entry deterrence under asymmetric competition.
